AGE: Somewhere in the range of 3000 years, appearance is that of a man in his mid-20s.

BLOOD TYPE: As an inhuman being, his blood is not typed in the same way.

DATE OF BIRTH: Unknown (more like forgotten)

STARSIGN: Unknown

HERO OR VILLAIN: Neither, more of a chaotic neutral-type character.

OCCUPATION: None, but he enjoys mercenary work

ALLIES: There’s only one person he could call his friend, and said person is slowly losing his sanity due to the loss of his mate.

ENEMIES: Yamata no Orochi (father), Chiyla (sister)

- CHARACTER'S PHYSICAL APPEARANCE IN HUMAN/NORMAL FORM -

EYE COLOUR: Reddish-orange

HAIR COLOUR: black

HAIR LENGTH: hip-length, usually kept tied back

SKIN COLOUR: lightly tanned

NATIONALITY: He is from Yomi no Kuni, so passes for Japanese

WEIGHT: Around 190 lbs

HEIGHT: 6’3”

OTHER PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: He lost his left eye in a fight several centuries ago and was left with a scar that starts from his left eyebrow and trails down his left cheek. The pupil of his eye is reptilian in shape.

COSTUME: No costume, but due to his parentage he has the ability to change into a Japanese-style dragon. In this form he stands about ten feet long and five feet high and is black from head to tail.

WEAPONS/ITEMS/TALISMANS: Two katanas, Hebidoku no Ken (Snake Venom) and Shinokage no Ken (Shadow of Death). Both are kept incredibly sharp. Shinokage no Ken is sharp on both edges, and the blade is black. Both swords have their name inscribed on the blade.

- CHARACTER'S PHYSICAL & MAGICAL POWERS -

LIST PHYSICAL ATTACKS AND EFFECTS: No specific attacks, but HiRyuu is well-versed in hand-to-hand and sword-based combat. He will not hesitate to reach right into someone’s chest, tear out their heart, and eat it while they die.

LIST MAGICAL ATTACKS AND EFFECTS: He can will fire into being with a mere thought and can manipulate fire. This is useful both for keeping warm on cold winter days and for flambe’ing your enemies.

This one is not an attack, but he has the ability to open portals for quick travel to other places.

LIST PHYSICAL WEAKNESSES: He does have enhanced strength compared to a human, but he is lithe, not muscular, and could still be physically overpowered.

ATTITUDE TOWARDS OTHERS: Generally cold. He views others (mostly humans) as inferior creatures. His cold attitude is in part to his past and his desire to not get close to anyone (again).

- CHARACTER'S HISTORY -

PAST HISTORY: HiRyuu is the second child but the firstborn son of Izanami and the eight-headed serpent Orochi. He was a sensitive boy as a child, taking after his mother and remaining close to her, much to the disgust and displeasure of Orochi. His older sister, Chiyla, was more closely aligned with Orochi and from a young age had his propensity for violence. From the time HiRyuu was a toddler he was tormented by his sister, and as soon as he could hold a weapon he had to learn how to fend off her random, violent attacks.

The dark, twisted creatures that inhabited Yomi often frightened the young HiRyuu and, knowing this, as they got older Chiyla began to dare him to go out into the wastelands to prove himself. By the time he was the equivalent of a teenager, he had hardened up, but he bore a burning hatred both for Orochi and for Chiyla for the consistent abuse they put him through. He wanted nothing more than to leave Yomi, but he was hesitant to leave Izanami alone.

Orochi had a penchant for taking young, virgin females and having his way with them before devouring them. It was one of these women that caught HiRyuu’s eye one day, a bright flower they did not belong in this world, held captive by his sire. Instantly smitten and unwilling to let her meet the same fate as so many others, he was able to free her from her captivity while Orochi slept and helped her escape back to the world of the living, knowing that if he set foot back in Yomi, Orochi would kill him for his betrayal.

The woman and HiRyuu developed a bond and he took her for his mate, and they lived happily for many years, until Chiyla tracked him down. She had been sent by their father to bring him back to Yomi to answer from his “crime,” and it was during this conflict that he lost his eye, but Chiyla decided a more fitting punishment was to take his mate, instead, and so killed her in front of him. This absolutely shattered HiRyuu, but rather than let himself become broken and useless, he glued the pieces of himself back together with ice and stone and vowed he would never again give up his heart to another. Emotions made one soft and weak, and he was not going to be that person again.

The only person he has allowed himself to relax around is Kanari, his deceased mate’s older brother. The two had developed a close bond, but even that has started to unravel as Kanari continues to descend into the depths of insanity after losing his own mate in childbirth. HiRyuu spent some time helping raise/train Kanari’s children, but now that they are grown and on their own, he has spent more time on his own. He has found something of a calling as a mercenary and a hitman, but he’s grown restless without having a true purpose.
