General

1. Each player may create only one universal account to which all of their characters will be played under. This is to help us keep track of who plays who and allows for multiple characters to be used in a single post.

2. Once you have joined, be sure to include a current E-mail in your member profile with Forumotion so that the Moderators/other players can get in touch with you.

3. Be respectful to member and staff alike and not troll or start OOC fights with anyone. In other words 'treat everyone how you want to be treated'. If there is a problem with another member, instead of fighting it out contact one of the staff and we'l discuss things. If problems persist after that then one or both parties may need to leave.

4. Don't spam! Posting OOC messages IC while not part of an IC post, posting inappropriate materials such as overly violent or pornographic pictures anywhere (IC threads, OOC threads or the chatterbox) is prohibited. Ads for other RPGs posted anywhere else but the Plug board are also considered spam and will be deleted.

5. To avoid clutter only quote one post.

6.K eep subjects of politics, religion, race etc IC-only! Once they're brought out of the game, they risk offending people and can start fights.

7. Fanfiction can be posted directly or linked to, their contents shouldn't exceed the IC rating, so nothing incredibly graphic in nature.

Roleplaying

Like our predecessor the Cherry Blossoms Club, Scattered Dawn uses chapters hosted by members. Chapters are fairly large threads that allow the entire group to participate at once.

1. Game rating is:
Forum Rules 322
Really do try and keep it clean everywhere else, the occasional outburst is understandable, but don't make a habit of it.

2. Proper prose please, no script-style.

3. No Godmoding and Metagaming:
Godmoding covers a number of areas.

  • You cannot take control of another player's character without permission from said player.
  • You can't declare damage to another player's character; while villai attacks can 'auto-hit' they can't say what exact damage was caused.
  • Nobody is all-powerful or invincible. While we do allow Divine/Demonic beings, they can take damage like anyone else.

Metagaming is using 'player knowledge' to give your characters an advantage. If a character is listed as a villain in the Chapter Summary, it doesn't mean your character , who has never encountered this person before, and their actions give the group no reason to suspect; but automatically knows they're up to no good. This also applies to locations too, if an enemy base's location is mentioned in the Chapter Leader's narration, your character shouldn't automatically know where it is because the information wasn't provided to the character, it was to the player. And it applies to profiles too; characters knowing details about another character that they shouldn't without the other player's permission.

4. Requesting information about the upcoming chapter from chapter leaders and their assistants is frowned upon. If they wish to keep things close to the vest, that's their business and continued 'fishing' counts as harassment.

5. After a chapter-leader has posted, each player has 3 days to post before the leader moves the story along. However, if you are waiting for someone's post and are yourself delayed for some unexpected reason, 4 days (96 hours) will be acceptable. But this doesn't happen often, so please don't make it a habit. If you are delayed by circumstances beyond your control, please let everyone know in advance, or as soon as possible, so that others can continue with the story without delay. Communicate about posting times with each other whenever possible, don't leave people in the lurch if you can help it. Don't wait until the last minute to post if you can do it earlier. Be mindful of others. A 3 day limit doesn't mean that you should post on the 3rd day consistently, as this can slow things down a lot for everyone. If you are not waiting on anyone's reply, move the story along as soon as you can. If you are going to be absent for more than 4 days because of circumstances outside your control, again, please advise us if possible so that necessary arrangements can be made.

6. When somebody talks to you or interacts with you, make sure you respond appropriately. Do not ignore or disregard posts that are directed to you in the RPG. As for tagging, when you tag members you should interact with them first. For instance, if you appear out of the blue somewhere it's your duty to say hello and start a conversation. Don't just enter a scene without a word and say 'tag all'. Instead introduce yourself! Make conversation. Attempt the first move and then tag the appropriate person. In all other instances please remember, people will speak to you when they are spoken to. If you do not include a tag line in either the subject of your post or at the very top of your message, members will regard it as an open post. This means anyone is allowed to respond to it. If however, a post has a specific tag line added, then only those it is directed to can respond in character.

Chanter-Leader

To ensure the smooth running of a chapter, the chapter-leader has temporary powers to monitor and censor anyone who breaches the club rules. Chapter-leaders can warn members when they overstep the boundaries provided in their storyline and they can suspend members that continually ignore the chapter-leader's guidance. The suspended member is not allowed to post IC while the chapter is running (usually a month). The chapter-leaders will get all the support they need from the moderators, as long as they abide by the club rules. Please remember, the rules are put in place to make sure that all members are treated with respect. If you notice something that needs our attention please notify and Admin.

1. If you want to host a chapter, you must first submit a summary in the chapter submission thread and have it approved by the administrators.

2. Chapter-Leaders can choose other members to assist them; either list them in the initial summary or request the assistance of others when your chapter approaches, but you should allow them enough time to consider it. Consequently they should be appropriately briefed about their roles.

3. Like those participating, the Leaders/Assistants need to post within 3 days to keep the story going. If any of the players haven’t posted yet, remind them that they might back-post later, but that you have to move things along for the sake of the other participants. If you committed to a chapter try to remain until the finish. Don’t leave half way unless it’s due to circumstances out of your control.

4. Chapter-Leaders should show courtesy to new members by greeting them and creating an opening for them if they wish to join in the RPG.

Character

Like the CBC we allow a multitude of characters from different fandoms, originals and crossovers. Howver here we're not requiring the Sailormoon canons to be present so even if picked up they can be part of their player's regular rotation.

1. Before you commence role-playing make sure you have approved character profiles for all the characters you intend to use. Create a thread for yourself using your Forumotion member name in the Character Profiles thread. If a moderator does not get in touch with you in regards to your newly submitted profiles, consider them approved and ready to commence role playing. A character template is also provided in the Character profiles category. If you are a chapter leader you need not provide a profile for your new character/s unless you intend to use them in other people's chapters. In other words, you cannot participate in other people's chapters without a character profile for every character you intend to use.

2. As we're opening another RP similar to SD's main game, character profiles are treated as universal, unless the game is more specialized (such as with Demos). So for games like GG, there's no need to make a different bio.

2. Every character's powers/magic must include a tempering, evading or counteracting force, for them to be accepted. If the reason you wish to keep these weaknesses a secret is due to your upcoming chapter, then include a note indicating this, instead of just leaving it blank. The only drawback is that if you leave powers/counters secret, you will not be allowed to use those certain powers in another member's chapter
